Hina Shahid's Story

“Hina and her husband had been through a most painful journey in the past few months. Hina is pregnant with her third child. They were thrilled and hopeful about the arrival of their baby but their happiness only lasted for a few days as doctor told them that she has to undergo c-section delivery due to health complications of both mother and baby. Without c-section, Hina is at risk of losing her child.”

Hina is 28 years old house wife who is pregnant with her 3^rd child. Her first daughter was delivered through a c-section surgery about 6 years ago, but her son was delivered through normal delivery procedure.

Hina is pregnant again with her third child now and doctor has advised her to undergo c-section as she cannot opt for normal delivery due to possible complications. Initially, she took treatment from a local hospital but they didn’t provide her proper medical care. She cannot afford treatment in a private hospital due to their poor financial condition.

Her husband is a daily wage labourer who earns only 400 to 500 PKR per day. They live in a 2-bedroom rented house with their children. Her husband is not only taking care of his own family, but also his mother and younger brothers who are living in the same house. Hina and her husband are extremely worried about paying the expenses of her surgery and medicines.
