Give Fidya with Transparent
Hands
Fidya is a type of donation that Muslims are obligated to pay for missing fasts due to
valid reasons. Fidya becomes applicable when a person misses a fast because of a
prolonged illness from which they cannot recover. Transparent Hands helps the most
deserving people with your Fidya to maximize the impact of your donation during
Ramadan.
How is Fidya Different From Kaffarah?
Fidya allows exemption from fasting for individuals with health conditions from which
they cannot recover, while Kaffarah is a penance for deliberately breaking fast without
a valid reason. Fidya allows someone who cannot fast an opportunity to get spiritual
rewards for fasting, and Kaffarah is an expiation for intentionally invalidating a fast.
Fidya doesn't need Qada, while Kaffarah has to be paid along with the Qada of the
invalidated fast. Qada is making up the invalidated fast.
